I have a Master's Degree in International Affairs with a concentration on Human Rights, obtained in 2002 at the Center for the Study of Human Rights at School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University in New York. This means I have a thorough background on human rights law, international law, and humanitarian law. It also implies knowledge on human rights in relation to transitional justice, development issues, migration, globalization, and business. I have good contacts within the human rights communities in New York, and often attend workshops and seminars on human rights to keep with news in the field as well as with emerging concepts. For example, in the summer of 2005 I was a participant in a post-graduate course on human security at Oslo University Summer School. I have reported on many human rights issues on the ground, for example in the United States, China, Yemen, West Papua, East Timor, Guatemala, Brazil, and Haiti. I also follow human rights issues within the United Nations framework, for example the new Human Rights Council. I often get to write about human rights news for TT, and I am a frequent contributor of human rights articles to the Amnesty Press and Barn (membership magazines for Swedish Amnesty International and Swedish Save the Children). One example is this report on human rights abuses in West Papua. Also, see "news feature stories" above.
I have written extensively on contemporary art, architecture, design, urban planning, music, and other stories related to the arts, particularly for the arts department of Svenska Dagbladet, but also for many other Swedish papers and magazines. These examples that will be posted here shortly are all about contemporary culture in China, a country I have visited no less than six times.
